Tech surges into August as Amazon soars, rates hit 18-month highs

The S&P 500 rose 0.70% to 7,489.72, the Dow gained 0.53% to 52,485.03, and the Nasdaq rallied 1.00% to 25,373.85 on Friday. Amazon jumped 15% on strong earnings, while Apple plummeted 7.2% after disappointing China and Services results. The 10-year Treasury yield surged to 4.71% and the 30-year hit 5.249%.
